‘Danse Macabre’
installation in the Anatomical Institute in Cologne, Germany.

In this Anatomical Institute life and death come together in one building.
On a photo of an allegedly killed soldier, by Robert Capa (from 1936), life and death come together in one image.
Retrieved from its original context, multiplied and mirrored, this figure seems to refer more to a modern dance choreography than to a war scene.

A painted imaginary background map refers to the earthly approach of dead in anatomical research.

The placement on the ceiling, on the other hand, refers to fresco paintings in which often the heavenly determines the atmosphere.
